As in January a lot of people are confronted with the statement of the high cost of their checking account, it’s good to give some advice how to limit this cost.
Next to choosing the bank which counts the lowest cost, we can make use of pc-banking and do all our money transfers online and free. We can limit the number of bankcards and credit cards linked to our classical checking account and choose for a package of a checking account including a number of services and cards. A low but not very effective cost is the account-insurance linked to the checking account, which in case of a decease offers twice the average amount on the checking account to the heirs, but as most people don’t keep a lot of money on their checking account, the cost is too high compared to the profit.
